Have any of you been to Atlantic City recently? On the boardwalk or in the casinos one thing remains constant besides most everyone losing their inheritances—we are fat. Kids, parents, senior citizens, craps players, poker players—we have shapes that look like a clown twisted us together with a bunch of balloons. So many people look as if they’re in pain, struggling to breathe, limping, waddling, holding on to anything for support. The city feels like purgatory or a perpetual re-watching of Dawn of the Dead and smells like…let’s not get into that.
Some people may argue that all body types are beautiful; maybe so, but we at YoNaturals Business know for sure that not all body types are healthy. Obesity and smoking are epidemics in our country. They’re astronomically serious, and their seriousness is undervalued because many people take magical pills, such as diuretics or statins or both, that they think are solving their problems—but really they’re putting their problems on the back burner and pushing the easy button (just like that commercial). Many people go on diets for a couple of weeks here, another couple weeks there, and after six months they look at themselves and nothing has changed. We can’t just go on diets, take pills, and expect our lives to change—we have to change our whole diet, our whole way of approaching our days—we need to change the way we live.
We need to start eating healthier, trying to eat organic or local produce whenever we can. We need to exercise—and forget about how excruciatingly painful that word sounds: Exercise. If you don’t like that word, don’t use it. Use another word like play, as in play golf, but instead of riding in a cart, walk. Say today I’m going to feel the excitement of having more energy as I ride my bike to the store to get some pasta and vegetables. We need to stop eating so much food. Please, work on smaller portions, we don’t need to stuff ourselves to the brink of pain. We’re not wasting the food if we save it for later. Eat smaller portions more times a day; studies have shown this to be more beneficial for our overall health. Why do we still smoke? Do we still think there is an ounce of possibility that it’s not going to kill us? Yeah sure, many things can or are killing us, but sickness and death by smoking is clear and definite.
Back to Atlantic City: if any of us are having trouble walking up five stairs from the hallway to the casino and we’re under seventy-five then we must take a look at ourselves and ask if putting money in that slot machine is going to give us our health back. How fun can winning the jackpot actually be if we can’t do anything to experience the money? Sure, there still is the satisfaction of winning and beating the house, but maybe if we asked ourselves these questions, we would skip the gambling and go spend more time outside on the beach chasing our grandkids. Try a YoNaturals healthy vending machine, and give your business to a company that gives back to your health.
